Who I Really Am

I was born and raised in Hants County, Nova Scotia, now living in northern Alberta. Our 4 seasons consist of Winter, Winter, Summer and Winter. *I soak up as much sun as I can during July!*

I’m a proud RCMP wife, mom of two beautiful girls and have a special gift for early communication – verbal and non-verbal.

I love movies, card games, hula hooping and knitting. I love my family, dark chocolate, reading, sign language and I’m obsessed with Lululemon :)

I learned sign language when I was 18 because I was interested in becoming an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter. And because I’ve always loved kids, my dream was to work in an elementary school with deaf students.

However, the universe had a different plan for me.

I married my high school sweetheart when I was 20 and my first daughter arrived just before I turned 24.

After my daughter came along I was so excited to teach her baby sign language. I really had no idea HOW to teach her so I did some research and got started when she was 6 months old.

How I Can Help You

Baby sign language is simple, smart and fun!

Not only could my daughter communicate with me – she was happy, content and a dream to spend time with. Our bond became stronger then I had expected and moms would often comment on ‘how well behaved‘ she was.

Believe me when I say: Giving your child the gift of communication at such a young age is one of the best things you can do for them, and you!

It wasn’t until years later, and after talking with several moms about behaviour issues, I realized that my gift of early communication skills, did not come easy to some moms.

That’s when I decided to share my tips + tricks.

I want you to know – this is a skill you can learn.

There are several different verbal + non-verbal techniques I can teach you about. But the first (and most important) step is to sign with your baby.

How you interact and communicate with your baby is soooo important because it directly affects their behaviour (now and years later!).

You’re probably thinking… I don’t know how to start and which signs are best for babies? That’s where I come in!

Too many times I’ve heard moms say ‘I started signing with my baby, but then we only did a few signs, I wish we had done more’.

Learning baby sign language can seem like an overwhelming task.

But I’ve made it simple for you.

I teach you the right way to sign with your baby, through my online classroom Intro to Baby Sign Language.

You will learn one sign at a time, right along with your baby.

It’s that simple, and I’d love to help you.
